Published on October 25, 2019, a man who was arrested in 2016 for impersonating a Kenya Defence Force (KDF) officer is now on the run in Nairobi.
Duke Makori Orina is wanted by police at Muthangari police station for allegedly swindling a businessman of Sh190,000.
According to police, Orina had been on the run since the matter was reported at the police station under OB number OB/25/27/4/2016, and he had ignored orders to surrender to police for interrogation.
Orina allegedly tricked a businessman, Gio Gia, into giving him money for delivering unnamed goods, but instead disappeared with the cash.
“Anyone who has information that will lead to his arrest, kindly report to Muthangari police station or any other police station near you,” Mr Gio Gia told Nairobi News.
Orina's history of impersonation dates back to 2016 when he was arrested in Kisii for lying to the public that he could secure them jobs in the KDF.
He was found in possession of forged documents, including a forged admission letter, and photos of himself dressed in police uniform and carrying firearms.
