Published on October 25, 2019, hundreds of youths from across the country were left stranded at the Emery hotel in Kileleshwa after falling victim to a job seekers scam.
The youths, who had paid Ksh. 1,000 each through mobile money transfer, were promised job guarantees from Solar Energy Africa Kenya, a company that has since been questioned by the jobless youths.
According to the youths, they came across the advert online and decided to give it a go, only to be later told by the Emery Hotel management that there was no booking in the name of Solar Energy Africa Kenya.
The matter has been reported at the Kileleshwa Police Station, and investigations are currently underway. The company, Solar Energy Africa Kenya, has so far not commented on the matter.
