On 20 October, Stacy Michuki, granddaughter of the late Kenyan politician John Michuki, was crowned the new Miss Universe Kenya 2019.

She will represent Kenya at the Miss Universe 2019 pageant scheduled to take place on 19 December in Seoul, South Korea.

Stacy emerged as the winner over 13 other contestants, including popular Kenyan singer Akothee's daughter Aggrey Dion Okello, also known as Rue Baby, who was the first runner-up.

Stacy succeeded Wabaiya Kariuki, the former Miss Universe 2018.

"Being a model has been the best thing that has happened to me. It allows me to be someone I am not every day," said Stacy after her win.

She expressed her gratitude to everyone who supported her journey and thanked God for her victory.

Stacy's modeling career began in 2017 when she was crowned Face of Nairobi Top Teen Model. She also participated in the Few's Next Face 2018 and became the first runner-up.
