Published on October 25, 2019, a shocking incident in Nairobi has left many stunned. A 13-year-old boy's body was discovered in his home in the South B estate, where his mother had been praying for his resurrection.
Anna Hotannah Khahugan, a lecturer at the University of Nairobi's Nursing School, was arrested on Thursday after the caretaker of their residential flat, Kifaru Heights, tipped off detectives about the body.
The deceased boy, Emmanuel Solomom Inyama, was a class 7 pupil at Riara School in Nairobi. According to the caretaker, Stephen Mwangi, he had gone to collect rent when he saw the body and immediately called the police.
Police launched an investigation to determine the cause of death, and the woman was taken in for questioning. Neighbours and Mwangi reported that the boy had been withdrawn from school and confined at home, rarely interacting with other children.
Nairobi Police chief Philip Ndolo confirmed that an investigation has been launched.
