Kenya's Safaricom has a new CEO, Peter Ndegwa, who has been appointed to the position following the death of Bob Collymore in July 2019.
Ndegwa takes over from Michael Joseph, who has been acting as interim CEO since Collymore's passing.
According to reports, Ndegwa is expected to start his new role officially in April 2020.
His wife, Jemimah Ndegwa, has congratulated him on his new appointment, praising him for being a diligent, hardworking, and dedicated individual.
"My dear, you have always said that there is no shortcut to success, and your appointment as CEO of Safaricom is a testament to your hard work and dedication," Jemimah Ndegwa said in a Facebook post.
She added that she is proud of her husband's achievement and has promised to support him in every way possible.
