On October 24, 2019, Arsenal's record signing Nicolas Pepe made a significant impact off the bench, scoring two stunning late free-kicks to secure a 3-2 comeback win over Vitoria Guimaraes in the Europa League.

Unai Emery made 10 changes to the starting lineup, which had lost to Sheffield United just two days prior, but the team struggled to find their rhythm in the early stages of the match.

Former Tottenham Hotspur youngster Marcus Edwards gave Vitoria Guimaraes the lead after just eight minutes with a cleverly placed shot past Emiliano Martinez.

However, Arsenal managed to equalize through Gabriel Martinelli, only for Bruno Duarte to restore the away side's lead.

Despite struggling to find their attacking flow, Arsenal's Alexandre Lacazette led the line in the absence of the rested Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and it was Pepe who ultimately made the difference with his two impressive free-kicks.

Pepe's heroics ensured that Arsenal maintained their 100% record in the Europa League for the season.
