On October 25, 2019, floods in Marsabit and Isiolo counties forced the closure of six exam centres, prompting the relocation of candidates to other centres for their national examinations.
Eastern Regional Director of Education Patrick Khaemba assured that his office had prepared adequately for the examinations, with helicopters and vehicles on standby to reach every exam centre in the region.
“We have floods in many areas. The most affected county is Marsabit. However, we have made arrangements to ensure that no candidate will miss exams due to floods,” Mr Khaemba said.
He warned centre managers against irregularities, emphasizing the importance of ensuring a smooth and fair examination process.
