On October 25, 2019, the county made a significant move to support its students by increasing the bursary fund from Sh80 million to Sh150 million.

This increase means that up to 10,000 students will benefit from the enhanced bursary kitty, with 4,000 more students receiving bursaries compared to the previous year.

Deputy Governor Martin Moshisho attributed the new allocation to the growing number of students joining secondary schools and other learning institutions.

"We want to pump in more resources so that no needy student drops out of school," he said, highlighting the county's commitment to education.
