On October 24, 2019, the High Court made a significant ruling in favor of media personality Ciku Muiruri in a civil lawsuit she filed against the Standard Media Group and specifically Mohammed Ali and Jicho Pevu.
Ciku Muiruri has been awarded millions in damages by the High Court for appearing in a clip aired on a Standard Group media station. The court ruled in her favor in a civil lawsuit against Mohammed Ali and Jicho Pevu.
According to Ciku Muiruri's Facebook post, she has been awarded damages running into the millions for a clip used on their programme a few years ago.
She refrained from responding to online bashing on the matter and has forgiven Governor Sonko for meddling into her affairs.
Ciku Muiruri has promised to use the proceeds from the compensation to educate the girl child.
She is also a published author, having launched her book in 2018 where she talks about love and advises women to walk away from toxic relationships.
