On 24 October 2019, the case against detained Tanzanian journalist Erick Kabendera was postponed again, this time to 7 November.
Prosecutors claim that investigations are not yet complete, prompting the latest delay in the case.
Mr Kabendera's lawyers from the Tanzania Human Rights Defenders Coalition had previously informed the court in Dar es Salaam that their client had written to the country's public prosecutor to initiate a plea bargain.
As a top investigative journalist, Mr Kabendera has written for numerous international media outlets, including The EastAfrican and the UK's Guardian newspaper.
He is facing charges of money laundering, tax evasion, and leading a criminal organisation, which his lawyers have denied, calling them politically motivated.
The case has attracted international attention, with government critics arguing that Mr Kabendera's arrest is an example of the shrinking space for media freedom of expression in Tanzania.
The government has dismissed these allegations.
