On October 24, 2019, a shocking discovery was made in a house in Nairobi's South B estate, where the decomposing body of a 13-year-old boy was found wrapped in a blanket in the bedroom of his mother, a University of Nairobi lecturer.
According to police, the body had been there for an unknown period, and the mother claimed that her son had fallen and died in the house, stating that she did not believe in hospitals and therefore did not take him for medical attention.
The lecturer was detained at the Industrial Area Police Station and is set to undergo a psychiatric assessment to determine the course of action in the case.
The remains of the boy were taken to the mortuary for further examination.
