Published on October 24, 2019, President Uhuru Kenyatta has arrived in Sochi, Russia, to attend the inaugural Russia-Africa Summit.
The two-day event, which started on Wednesday, brings together over 3,000 delegates from Russia and Africa to discuss various topics, including nuclear energy, mineral extraction, agriculture, healthcare, and education.
According to President Vladimir Putin, the summit aims to grow joint projects in extraction industries, agriculture, healthcare, and education.
Notably, all 54 African states have sent representatives to the meeting, including 43 Heads of State.
During his stay in Sochi, President Kenyatta is also expected to hold bilateral talks with his Russian counterpart, focusing on trade and investment partnerships.
Other government officials who travelled with President Kenyatta include Foreign Affairs CS Monica Juma and Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya, who is also the Chairman of the Council of Governors.
