Kenya has made a notable leap in the World Bank's Ease of Doing Business index, rising five places to position 56 out of 190 economies in 2020.
Released on Thursday, the report, officiated by Deputy President William Ruto, highlighted Kenya's top ranking in protecting minority investors and fourth position in access to credit.
Compared to its 2019 ranking of 61, Kenya's steady improvement in the 2020 index has been attributed to factors such as resolving insolvency and access to electricity.
Notably, the country has moved 80 places up since 2014, a testament to its economic progress.
The 2020 index also scored Kenya at position 70 on electricity connection and 50 on resolving insolvency.
