On October 24, 2019, detectives from the Ruiru police station led an intelligence-led operation that resulted in the seizure of over Ksh. 102 million in fake Euro currency from a house in Githurai Kimbo.
According to the police, a thorough search of the house led them to a safe box that contained the fake currency, which was in denominations of 100 euros.
Three suspects, Rose Wambui, Mary Muthoni, and Tabitha, were arrested in connection with the fake currency and are assisting the police with further investigations.
The fake money has been kept as an exhibit, and the police say they will continue to investigate the matter.
