Kanze Dena Recalls Journey to Friendship with Lulu Hassan

Published on October 24, 2019

Media personalities Kanze Dena and Lulu Hassan have been inseparable sisters and confidants since they met at Lulu's son's birthday party.

Before becoming a TV duo, the two women struck a friendship on Facebook, conversing often for about a year before finally meeting in person.

Speaking to Parents Magazine in a past interview, Lulu Hassan admitted that she and Kanze Dena started their friendship on social media, chatting on Facebook for almost a year.

After conversing for slightly over a year, the two finally met during Lulu's son's first birthday celebration.

Before settling for their roles on Citizen TV, Kanze Dena and her confidant were meant to start new jobs at K24, but they landed at Citizen instead.

As they covered elections, they realized they worked well together, and their friendship blossomed into a beautiful sisterhood.

As Lulu Hassan said in an interview, 'I have learnt to understand her and she has learnt to understand me.'

However, their time together on Citizen TV came to an end in 2018 when Kanze Dena was offered a lucrative position at the State House, prompting her departure from the TV station.

Her departure was a bitter-sweet moment for both Kanze Dena and Lulu Hassan, with Lulu wishing her the best and referring to Kanze as her sister.
