On Wednesday, a resolute intelligence operation by the DCI detectives based at Ruiru led to the impounding of over 102 million shillings in fake Euros at a house in Githurai Kimbo, Kiambu County.

According to a tweet by @DCI_Kenya, three suspects - Rose Wambui, Mary Muthoni, and Tabitha Muhuha - were arrested and are assisting in further investigations.

A thorough search of the house led the detectives to a suspicious locked safe box, which they managed to unlock and find the over 880,090 euros (fake) in 100 denominations.

The fake currency has been secured and kept as Exhibit.

Notably, this is not the first time the DCI has confiscated large amounts of fake currency. Last month, they seized over 200 million shillings in fake US dollars, euros, and pounds in Kileleshwa and arrested one suspect.
