The national women's netball team representing Kenya at the 2019 Africa Netball Championship in Cape Town, South Africa, has been left stranded due to accommodation issues.

According to reports, the team was unable to afford accommodation after the hotel they had booked turned them back due to a lack of deposit.

However, an official from the Ministry of Sports denied reports that the team was stranded, stating that a Sports officer had accompanied them and that they would have been informed of any difficulties.

Despite this, Kenyans took to social media to express their disappointment with the Ministry of Sports, with some even questioning the role of Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed.

As the team struggles to find accommodation, six federations have petitioned the Parliamentary Sports Committee to compel the Ministry of Sports to fund them.

They have expressed their frustration with the lack of feedback from the Fund Administrator and Principal Secretary for Sports Ambassador Peter Kaberia, despite President Uhuru Kenyatta's promise to support national teams.
