On October 23, 2019, Kenya's cricket team made a remarkable comeback in the 2020 ICC T20 World Cup Qualifiers in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, defeating Singapore by seven wickets.

Coach Maurice Odumbe's decision to start Aman Gandhi in place of experienced Alex Obanda proved to be a masterstroke, as the young batsman played a crucial role in Kenya's victory.

Gandhi's senior debut was nothing short of spectacular, as he hit a half-century from 46 balls before being caught by Amjad Mahboob in 14.1 overs.

Wicketkeeper Irfan Karim remained unbeaten, scoring 71 runs and smashing eight boundaries, while Rakep Patel completed the job with seven runs from two balls.

Singapore, who won the toss and elected to bat, set a target of 158 for the Kenyans. Surendran Chandramohan starred for Singapore with the bat, scoring 40 runs off 30 balls.

Kenyan bowlers started off well, with Elijah Otieno getting opening batsman Rezza Gaznavi caught on the third ball of the innings.
