Published on October 23, 2019, four suspects were arrested in Ruiru after a botched attempt to rob a Barclays Bank ATM.
Among those arrested were a G4S guard and a KK Security employee, who were allegedly involved in the heist.
The suspects, identified as Hillary Ng'eno, Jared Nyang'au, Douglas Momanyi, and Jacob Barasa, are currently in police custody pending investigations.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the suspects had attempted to empty the ATM several times with no success.
Seized items included a mobile phone used to make contact with a source, a nylon sack for loading money, and a motorcycle for fleeing.
The arrests come after a series of high-profile heists in Nairobi, including the Ksh.72 million Nairobi West heist in September and the theft of Ksh.14 million from three Barclays Bank ATMs in April.
