Britain's Oldest Footballer Seeks New Club at 83

Dickie Borthwick, an 83-year-old retired engineer, has been playing football for over 70 years and is now looking for a new club to join.

With over 1,600 matches under his belt, Borthwick is considered Britain's oldest footballer and has been sharpening his skills in his garden.

Despite his advanced age, Borthwick insists he is fit to play 90 minutes and is looking for a club that will give him the opportunity to continue playing.

He has been taking deep breaths of fresh air in the morning and evening as part of his workout plan, which he believes has helped him stay fit.

Borthwick made 1,600 appearances in a career spanning 72 years and counting, playing for Ross County and Invergordon Town FC in the Scottish highlands before moving to Dorset.

He is currently unattached to a club after the veterans' team folded up, but remains adamant he does not want to play walking football.

"I feel like I am capable of playing 90 minutes. I will give 100%. I'm solid as a rock, well built, fearless and have a true love for the game," he told SportBIBLE.

"Every morning I go to the front door and take in 10 really deep breaths of fresh air. I also do it in the evening before I go to bed," he further revealed.
