On October 23, 2019, a group of Jubilee MPs expressed their opposition to the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report if it proposes creating seats for a select few.
The MPs stated that they would only support the report if it advocates for reforms that better the lives of Kenyans.
Speaking at Sekenani in Narok West, Narok County, Deputy President William Ruto and other leaders emphasized that the report should prioritize the interests of the people over those of politicians.
Present at the event were Narok County Governor Samuel Tunai, MPs Gabriel Tongoyo (Narok West), Johanna Ngeno (Emurua Dikirr), Patrick Munene (Chuka Igembe Ngombe), Soipan Tuya (Woman Rep, Narok), Caleb Kositany (Soy) and Nelson Koech (Belgut).
According to Koech, the MPs do not have a problem with the BBI report as it is just a document that will be presented to them. However, if it is about creating positions in the government, they will reject it.
Deputy President Ruto dismissed critics of Jubilee administration projects, citing the recently launched Standard Gauge Railway to Suswa.
He emphasized that the Jubilee administration is committed to transforming the country through the implementation of various development projects.
