Asbel Kiprop, a former 1500m Olympic champion, has been embroiled in a series of cheating scandals since his doping allegations emerged in 2017.
His wife, Sammary Cherotich, has announced her engagement to a new lover, Kelvin Kip Busienei, on her Facebook page on October 22, 2019.
Cherotich had been separated from Kiprop for a while after scandals of the athlete cheating on her arose.
Asbel Kiprop was banned in April 2019 for four years by the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) for breaching doping rules.
He denied the allegations, claiming his urine was tampered with by the testers.
Photos and clips have emerged on social media showing Kiprop hanging out with different ladies, including his mpango wa kando (side-chick) in car dancing suggestively.
It was reported that Kiprop had been angered by a certain Henry Rotich, claiming that he was behind his doping ban.
He therefore decided to get back on him by cheating with his wife, Nancy Rotich.
Cherotich took to her Facebook page to share the news of her engagement, saying, 'Asbel is depressed as we speak and needs urgent counselling. Kenyans should stand with him the same way they celebrated his wins. I am not defending him because he is my husband but because I know he is a talented athlete,' in 2018.
