On October 23, 2019, incumbent Football Kenya Federation (FKF) president Nick Mwendwa made history by becoming the first aspirant to appear before the electoral board at the federation headquarters in Nairobi.
Accompanied by his Deputy Doris Petra, Mwendwa arrived in a grand procession, escorted by a wave of supporters wearing 'Team Blue' shirts, along with several branch leaders.
The electoral board was in the process of verifying Mwendwa's documents and ensuring he had met the minimum required endorsement by stakeholders at the time of the report.
The FKF presidential election is scheduled for December 7.
