Former Othaya MP Mary Wambui has made a surprising move, relocating to the sh400 million retirement home gifted to former head of state Mwai Kibaki by the government. The home, located in Mweiga, Nyeri County, has been a subject of gossip surrounding Wambui and Kibaki's alleged affair during the latter's presidency.

According to sources, Wambui, who rebounded to the limelight following her appointment as the National Employment Authority chairperson, is a frequent visitor to the palatial residence.

The red-tiled house, perched on a high point, offers a sweeping view of Mt Kenya and the Aberdare Rangers. The property, located along the Nyeri-Nyahururu road, is like a mini State House, complete with a helipad and the trappings of power.

Located in a deeply forested area, the house is only visible by motorists plying the busy road, with its red-tiled roof standing out.
