On October 22nd, the 2019 SIG SAUER International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) World Championships kicked off in Talladega, Alabama, with Kenya's Geoffrey Pesa leading the Kenyan team.

As the reigning Pistol Carbine Calibre (PCC) champion, Pesa faced 84 competitors in his category and recorded good results on the first day of the competition.

The CMP range, which hosted approximately 1000 people including spectators, featured 16 stages designed to test shooters' fundamental gun handling skills and marksmanship.

Kenya is among the 24 countries participating in the competition, which brings together participants from diverse cultures and social backgrounds competing to bring honor and glory to their countries and themselves.

The competition, held annually, features 350 Pistol competitors and 84 Pistol Carbine Caliber competitors, with Kenya represented in both categories.
