On October 23, 2019, a woman named Nancy Njeri Muiruri was victimized by a group of individuals who posed as land owners in Kiambu county.

Priscilla Nduta, Peter Karanja, and Emmah Wacera allegedly convinced Muiruri to pay them Ksh. 7.8 Million for parcels of land, only to disappear with the money.

The three were arraigned at the Makadara Law Courts and charged with obtaining by false pretences contrary to section 313 of the penal code.

They were released on a cash bail of Ksh. 500,000 and a surety of Ksh. 1 Million.

Muiruri's lawyer, Dennis Magero, expressed confidence that justice would be served and that the other accomplices would also be arrested and arraigned.
