Ann Kamoni, a 23-year-old photojournalist who worked with Raila Odinga's press unit in ODM, passed away on Sunday evening at Coptic Hospital in Nairobi.

According to tributes from her colleagues, Kamoni struggled with addiction and had been fighting to overcome it. Her determination to win her battle against addiction was evident in her fight, but unfortunately, she lost.

Minority Chief Whip Junet Mohamed paid tribute to Kamoni, saying, 'Her name, like many of her kind, only appeared on papers as a credit on a photo. I met her fighting addiction. She once broke down at Orange House. She had waned, and it showed. That she fought till now only showed her dogged determination, to win. Sad she lost.'

ODM's Director of Communications Philip Etale also confirmed the death on his Twitter handle on Monday morning, saying, 'May you rest in the arms of the Lord who formed you from the dust of the earth. My friend Ann Kamoni, may Christ who died for you admit you into His garden of paradise.'
