On October 23, 2019, Akothee announced on Instagram that she had gifted her daughter an all-expenses-paid trip to the Maldives as a reward for her outstanding performance in the Miss Universe Kenya competition.
According to Akothee, Rue Baby was crowned the first runner-up in the competition, and the proud mother was eager to celebrate her daughter's achievement.
"Maldives it is my darling. All expenses paid for. You just need your suitcase and one of your best friends if you do not have a boyfriend," Akothee wrote on Instagram.
