October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and UAP Old Mutual has partnered with Estée Lauder to create awareness about the disease. The iconic UAP Old Mutual Tower in Nairobi has been lit up in pink for the whole month.

This is the first time a building in Kenya has been lit up in pink to raise awareness about breast cancer. The tower joins other landmark buildings around the world, including the Empire State Building in New York, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and the Tel Aviv Ferris Wheel in Tel Aviv.

According to a 2018 report by the World Health Organisation, breast cancer is one of the leading cancers diagnosed in Kenya. Unfortunately, about half of the women diagnosed with the disease die from it due to late diagnosis and treatment, lack of access to, and the high cost of proper treatment.

UAP Old Mutual has also partnered with Estée Lauder to hold a fundraising campaign on October 26, whose proceeds will go towards fighting the disease.
