On October 22, 2019, Boeing announced the departure of its top commercial airplanes executive, Kevin McAllister, amidst the ongoing crisis surrounding the 737 MAX aircraft.

McAllister's exit comes as Boeing continues to grapple with the consequences of two fatal crashes of the 737 MAX, which killed 346 people.

Stan Deal, a long-time Boeing executive, has been appointed to succeed McAllister, effective immediately.

Deal joined Boeing in 1986 and previously served as president and chief executive officer of Boeing Global Services.

Boeing is still working to regain approval to unground the 737 MAX, which has been grounded since the crashes.
