Arsenal Fans Call for Wenger's Return on His 70th Birthday

October 22, 2019 - On the day of his 70th birthday, Arsene Wenger, the former Arsenal manager, found himself at the center of a social media storm as fans called for his return to the Emirates.

The call for Wenger's return came after Arsenal's latest shock 1-0 loss to Sheffield Wednesday, which exposed the fundamental problems facing the London side.

As the Gunners struggled to find their footing, fans took to Twitter to express their sentiments, with many backing their calls for Wenger's return with warm messages to the Frenchman.

Wenger, who has one of the most solid records of any manager in his 20-year spell with the club, has a slight edge over current manager Unai Emery in terms of wins, goals scored, and conceded.

Despite the fact that Wenger was in the twilight days of his Arsenal career, his record remains impressive, with a recent statistic showing that Emery has performed worse in his first 47 games than Wenger did in his last 47 games with the club.

David Luiz, a new signing for Arsenal from rivals Chelsea, still believes the Gunners can challenge for the title, despite being a fair way away from runaway league leaders Liverpool.
