On October 22, 2019, the National Police Service Commission (NPSC) sealed the fate of 448 police officers accused of indiscipline.
The officers had been discharged from the police service, and their files will not be revisited, according to the NPSC.
The decision was made after the NPSC heard the officers' cases and determined that they did not deserve to continue working in the service.
National Police Service Commission Chair Eliud Kinuthia stated that there is no comeback for the affected officers, as their fate has been sealed.
However, the commission has absolved 300 officers from wrongdoing, allowing them to resume their duties.
Chair Kinuthia also announced that the process of vetting has been temporarily suspended to prevent a smear campaign against the officers.
