On an unspecified date, a boiler explosion in Jericho village, Mavoloni-sub County, Machakos, left two chang'aa brewers seriously injured.
The cause of the explosion remains unknown, but sources disclosed to Citizen Digital that the victims are being locked in a house near Yatta National Youth College, awaiting medical attention.
Area village elder Alois Mutiso expressed concerns over illicit brewing in the area, stating that brewing chang'aa is illegal and that security personnel allegedly benefit from the trade, taking no action against it.
Earlier, women in the area had forced the government to crack down on illicit brews through Yatta DCC Emma Kibaara.
