As the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) national elections draw near, NEC aspirants are racing against time to submit their credentials before the deadline.
On Tuesday, the FKF Electoral Board secretariat received nomination papers from aspirants vying for positions at the National Executive Committee.
Among those who presented their papers was Coast region aspirant Gabriel Mghendi, who expressed confidence in his chances of winning the election.
"I would like my people from the Coast region to see me as a reliable leader who are fit for the job as their representative," Mghendi said.
Other aspirants, including Nyanza region's Joseph Andere and Western region's Bishop Tony Kweya, also submitted their papers, praising the seamless nomination process.
The Electoral Board will have a three-day window to hear disputes submitted to it between October 24 and October 26, 2019. Aspirants who do not get recourse from the Board can further lodge their appeals to the Appeals Committee between October 28 and October 30, 2019.
The final list of candidates at both the County and National level will be published on November 2, 2019, while voter verification will take place between November 4 and November 9, 2019.
A preliminary list of eligible voters will be published on November 11, 2019, with disputes surrounding the voter register to be heard by the Board between November 13 and November 15, 2019, and thereafter by the Appeals Committee, if need be, between November 18 and November 20, 2019.
The final list of eligible voters will be published on November 21, 2019, with County elections scheduled for November 23 and the National polls lined up on December 7, 2019.
