On a day when neither side could find the back of the net, Fiorentina manager Vincenzo Montella praised his team's resilience in a goalless draw against Brescia at the Stadio Mario Rigamonti on October 22, 2019.
"We need to keep working but that's always the case," Montella said in his post-match press conference.
Montella acknowledged that his team needed to improve their finishing to stay near the top of the table, but he was impressed by their mentality, particularly in the latter stages of the game.
"I think we had more of the ball and forced our opponents to run more, which is a positive aspect of our game," Montella said.
However, he also noted that Brescia's well-organized defense made it difficult for Fiorentina to play their usual style of football.
"They're well-organized and get numbers around the ball, which makes it tough for any team to play good football," Montella said.
Despite the draw, Montella was pleased with the impact of substitute Riccardo Sottil, who had a significant influence on the game.
