Impact Hub Harare is proud to host Seedstars World for the fourth time in Zimbabwe, as the organization prepares to hold the Seedstars Harare event on October 25th, 2019, at 4pm.
Seedstars World has announced that companies invited to the training session and to privately pitch at the Seedstars Harare event must have raised less than USD 500,000 in funding, built a minimum viable product, and have the potential for regional and global scalability.
The winner of the Seedstars Harare event will represent Harare at the Seedstars Regional Summit and will also have the chance to win an all-inclusive trip to Switzerland to compete at the Seedstars Summit for the title of Seedstars Global Winner, as well as up to USD 500,000 in equity investments and other prizes.
After careful screening, the Seedstars team will shortlist around ten of the best seed-stage startups to participate in the training and pitching event on October 25th.
UNDP Zimbabwe is the main sponsor of the event, while Seedstars and ABAN have joined forces to train local business angels through Heritage Angel Investors. Additionally, DOEN partnered with Seedstars to launch the DOEN Land Restoration Prize, aiming to find and award the best tech-enabled solutions in the land restoration and land degradation space on the continent.
AFDB has also joined forces with Seedstars as a main partner for the “Job Creation Track,” which aims to train, support, promote, and award startups that show potential for creating sustainable jobs in Africa.
Seedstars is partnering with SAIS – Southern Africa Innovation Support to bring this local event to Harare, offering selected startups the opportunity to participate in the three-month Seedstars Investment Readiness Program and receive seed funding for their businesses.
