On October 22, 2019, Jackie Maribe sparked controversy after referring to Statehouse Secretary of Innovation, Digital and Diaspora Communications, HSC Dennis Itumbi as 'sweetie'.
Maribe, a former Citizen TV anchor, has been at the center of a heated debate with her fans questioning her love stand after she introduced comedian Eric Omondi as the father of her child.
However, Maribe clarified that Itumbi was one of her closest best friends and that she was at liberty to call him whatever name she pleased.
Maribe and Itumbi were said to be seeing each other romantically after a picture of them sharing a kiss did rounds online 4 years ago. However, Maribe clarified that Itumbi and her were deeper than soulmates and that the embattled lip kiss was a friendly gesture.
Maribe wrote on social media, 'Shida ni the stories you tell yourself. I have never been romantically involved with Itumbi for example. I hear he even took dowry to my home 4 years ago and I don’t even know. Endeleeni, you know more than we do,'
