On 20 October, Stacy Michuki, granddaughter of the late Kenyan politician and businessman John Michuki, was crowned the new Miss Universe Kenya 2019.

Stacy will represent Kenya at the Miss Universe 2019 pageant scheduled to take place on 19 December in Seoul, South Korea.

She emerged the winner over 13 other contestants, including Aggry Dion Okello, daughter of popular Kenyan singer Akothee, who followed closely as the first runners-up.

Stacy succeeded Wabaiya Kariuki, the former Miss Universe 2018.

Being a model has been the best thing that has happened to me. It allows me to be someone I am not every day,” said Stacy after her win.

Stacy has had a successful modeling career, being crowned Face of Nairobi Top Teen Model in 2017 and first runners-up in Few’s Next Face 2018.
