On October 22, 2019, Eco Warriors, the first educational mobile game and comic book about ecological education for kids, was recognized for its innovative sustainable solution at the Seedstars Mauritius competition.
The startup, which has a UNESCO patronage, won the top prize, earning an all-inclusive trip to the Seedstars Africa Summit and a chance to secure a spot at the Seedstars Global Summit in Switzerland. The winner of the global summit will receive a $500,000 investment prize and three months of access to the investment readiness program.
Eight startups pitched their ideas to a prestigious jury, including Muhamud Junaid Udhin. FundKiss Technologies, which aims to revolutionize the financing of Mauritian SMEs, came in second, while AVR Plato Technology, a startup pioneering the use of augmented and virtual reality in classrooms across Africa, secured the third spot.
Seedstars World, the organization behind the competition, is now set to visit Harare, Zimbabwe, to select the best startup in the country. The organization is looking for innovative startups that solve regional issues and develop profitable products for the global market.
