Published on October 22, 2019, former Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa has expressed his disappointment over the lack of support from Kenyans as he prepares to sit for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education exams.

Echesa, who was replaced by Amina Mohammed, has taken to the media to express his frustration over the lack of acknowledgment of his decision to sit for the exams.

"I wonder why most people find it hard to wish success to those sitting for exams," Echesa said.

He criticized Kenyan politicians with whom he had previously served, saying they have exhibited uncalled-for enmity and jealousy at a time he needed their motivational support the most.

Echesa, who is set to sit for the exams alongside hundreds of thousands of pupils, believes that excelling in the KCPE exams will land him entry into a secondary school where he believed he'd attain excellent results, allowing him to pursue his dreams.

"Even though they have refused to congratulate me ahead of the exams and wish me good luck, I have an inclination to excel and disappoint them all," Echesa said.
