Published on October 22, 2019, the Premier League standings after match-week nine show Liverpool and Manchester City maintaining their positions at the top.

Manchester City's 2-0 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday kept alive their hopes of retaining the title, with Liverpool just six points ahead.

Meanwhile, Arsenal's defeat to Sheffield United on October 21 saw them drop to fifth with 15 points, missing out on a chance to go third on the standings.

Chelsea and Leicester City are now in third and fourth place respectively, with Chelsea on an upward trajectory under Frank Lampard and Leicester City basking in glory under Brendan Rodgers.

At the bottom of the table, United remain rooted with just 10 points, two off the relegation zone, while Newcastle, Norwich City, and Watford occupy the three relegation spots.

Sheffield United's Lys Mousset scored the solitary goal that separated the two sides in the 30th minute of the encounter, sinking Arsenal at Bramall Lane.
