On October 21, 2019, a remarkable story of kindness and generosity unfolded in Migari village, Karimba location, Tharaka Nithi County.

Anderson Muchunku, a 57-year-old man, had been living under a huge rock for 16 years after his house collapsed. His only protection from the scorching sun and rain was a polythene paper roof.

However, his neighbors, moved by his plight, came together to raise funds and build a small house for Muchunku. Lawrence Ntwiga, Muchunku's brother, expressed his gratitude for the support, saying, "I have not been happy with what my brother has been undergoing but I could not do much apart from pitying him following the tough financial times I am going through."

Adiel Mbae, the Karimba Location Area Manager, acknowledged that Muchunku's living conditions were challenging, especially during the rainy season. He appealed to well-wishers to assist Muchunku with basic needs like food and clothes to improve his quality of life.

Community health volunteer Alfred Nyaga echoed Mbae's sentiments, urging residents to continue showing kindness and support in such cases. Acting Chief Edward Gitonga Ndiga praised the community's efforts, saying, "I am pleased with what you have done and we should always follow these footsteps even before seeking help from other areas."
