Migori Woman's Brutal Assault Leaves 17-Year-Old Dead

On October 21, 2019, a tragic incident occurred in Tagare village, Kuria West, Migori County, where a 17-year-old girl lost her life after being brutally assaulted by her guardian.

The victim, who was preparing to sit the KCPE exam at Tagare Primary School, had arrived home at around 2am from an unknown location, prompting her 30-year-old guardian, Linet Biyaki, to unleash a vicious attack with a stick.

According to Suna East Sub-county Police Commander Mark Wanjala, the girl was rushed to Samjomen Hospital by neighbours, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Following the incident, Linet Biyaki was arrested and detained at Kehancha Police Station pending arraignment.
