On October 21, 2019, Jackson Kibor, a prominent Uasin Gishu farmer and politician, addressed the First Eldoret City Men Congress, sharing his wisdom on successful and happy living.

Known for his controversial family life, including divorcing two wives and suing his sons for trespassing, Kibor's speech was highly anticipated.

During the conference, themed 'Men and Seven Mountains of Social Influence,' Kibor encouraged men to stand up and defend their positions in society, avoiding being swayed by their wives.

“Men should be strong as heads of the family. This does not stop when one grows old,” he said.

Kibor also expressed his disapproval of youthful sluggards who want to benefit from their parents' wealth without breaking a sweat.

“You want to enjoy life using your parents' wealth! That's unacceptable. You only eat what you have worked for. Young people need to stop drinking too much and eat healthy foods,” he said.

He attributed his longevity to a healthy diet and shared a personal story about withdrawing his decision to allocate a portion of his land to his heirs after one of his sons died due to drinking-related problems.

The conference, moderated by former Elgeyo Marakwet County Assembly Speaker Albert Kochei, aimed to help men overcome identity crises and was attended by over 100 men who paid KSh 2,000 each.
