Published on October 21, 2019, a woman claiming to be the mother of Fidel Odinga's children alleged that Ida Odinga was using Fidel's name to fight over his property.

However, Ida Odinga has denied these claims, stating that she is not aware of any children Fidel may have had outside of his marriage.

According to court documents, a DNA test was ordered to determine the paternity of the children, but the mother has refused to allow the test to be conducted.

The mother, through her lawyer, John Sakwa, stated that she knows the father of her children and that she does not need to allow the DNA test to be conducted.

She also claimed that the family of Raila Odinga, Fidel's father, has never acknowledged or supported the children.

Ida Odinga and her son Winnie Odinga appeared in court to contest the mother's claim, stating that Fidel had children outside of his marriage.

However, the mother has denied these claims, stating that Ida Odinga is using her name to gain control of Fidel's property.
