On October 20, 2019, the Soldiers Day golf tournament took place at the Kiambu Golf Club, attracting a field of 110 players.
Francis Gichomo, a 15-handicap golfer from Kiambu, was in top form, claiming the overall prize with 41 points, comprising 21 points in the first nine and 20 at the back nine.
His impressive score was made up of nine pars, a double bogey at the par-four seventh, and eight single bogeys.
Ken Mwaura took the men's top prize with 38 points, beating Rukenya Gichuki and Michael Ngene by one point.
Meanwhile, Ndumberi Golf Club captain Michael Karanga fired a four-over-par 76 gross to claim the gross title.
Anne Ngumba emerged the lady winner with 40 points, beating Joyce Wanjiru by one point.
