Jose Mourinho Defends Manchester United After Jurgen Klopp's Criticism

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has defended his team's tactics after Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp criticized their defensive approach in a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford on October 20, 2019.

According to Klopp, Manchester United's tactics were defensive-minded, but Mourinho has disputed this, saying that his team was forced to play a different game due to the challenges they faced.

"When I was in England, Manchester United were known for playing a certain way. Every player was a mountain, but one team was playing to defend," Klopp said after the match.

However, Mourinho has countered this, saying that his team was forced to play a different game due to the challenges they faced.

"Because Manchester United don't farm Old Trafford. They don't enjoy what they're given. They want meat but got fish, so they're not happy," Mourinho said on Sky Sports.

"United because of their challenges played a different game," he added.

Manchester United's draw against Liverpool has left them with 25 points, 25 points behind leaders Manchester City in the Premier League table.

Adam Lallana scored the equalizing goal for Liverpool in the 85th minute, after Marcus Rashford had given Manchester United the lead in the 36th minute.
