On October 21, 2019, a shocking revelation shook the Tanzanian music scene. Diamond Platnumz' manager, Sallam, inadvertently exposed that Diamond is not the owner of Wasafi Records (WCB).
The drama began when Diamond had a public feud with Clouds FM management after one of his dancers almost ran over a TV crew working for the media house.
As the situation escalated, Diamond's manager, Sallam, took to Instagram to express his anger, calling out the Clouds FM bosses in a post that read:
“BREAKING NEWS: Saa moja kamili Usiku wa leo nakuja na makala maalumu naomba muweke bando, na simu full charge, notification ON. #YaliyofichwaYatafukuliwaLeo #TumekataaKuwaKaa”
However, Sallam was forced to withdraw his post after learning that his business partner, Joe Kusaga, who is claimed to be one of the owners of the Wasafi Empire, had intervened to stop the drama.
It is alleged that Joe Kusaga and Ruge Mutahaba, the CEO of Clouds FM, co-own Wasafi Records. The revelation sparked rumors that Diamond's position as the head of WCB was under threat, but it seems that the situation was eventually resolved.
