On October 21, 2019, Wazito FC owner Ricardo Badoer publicly expressed his frustration over the team's poor performance, citing a 4-2 defeat to Kakamega Homeboyz.

As reported by Nairobi News, Badoer's comments came after a string of disappointing results, leaving the team in 13th position on the 18-team league standings.

Former Wazito FC Technical Director Stanley Okumbi, who also coaches the U-20 national football team, has denied a physical altercation with coach Fred Ambani, despite a public disagreement over team selection.

Okumbi told Kahawa Tungu that the disagreement was over fielding a player who had just recovered from sickness, but he maintained that there was no physical fight.

However, multiple sources within the team suggest that the two officials might have been involved in a physical altercation ahead of the Homeboyz game and were served with a verbal suspension after the game.
