On October 21, 2019, singer Akothee made headlines when she attended a parliamentary session wearing a short, luminous green skirt-suit.
When asked about her outfit, Akothee stated that she would still wear it if given the chance, saying,
“That was one of my best dress code. We got an email from the PA saying we should wear suits, I wore a suit. My legs are the ones longer than the skirt.”
Akothee emphasized that her intention for attending the parliamentary session was to invite the government to the launch of Akothee Foundation, and she received the necessary support.
She also addressed rumors surrounding a sex tape, stating that the video was 'dirty' and shot in an unsavory location, and that she would not engage in such activities.
